I received my first box of magazines and linens from Jeanne d'Arc Living today!  I can't wait to share them with all of you!  The April issue of this beautiful magazine will be available this weekend at the Townsend Harbor Market as part of my Barn Loft display.  At only $14 an issue, how can you resist?!

Here's a little peek inside...

...beautiful French embroidery forms...

...a spring tea with lavender meringues...

...vintage paperbacks tied up in twine...

...pick up your copy to see more!!!  The photography, writing and subjects are all stunning in this acclaimed Danish living magazine.  I will begin shipping with the May issue of the magazine, and will offer free mainland shipping to all of my blog followers!  I'll be setting up a link for pre-ordering the magazine in the next couple of weeks.

Also in this wonderful package from Denmark...vintage French grain sacks!  These will be for sale at the Market this weekend, as well, then on my Etsy site.

I have two in green, as well...I guess I can part with them...

My good friend and business "partner," Kris Vogelsang, and I have been dreaming up a new kind of retail experience for about a year now.  Something intimate...inpspiring...totally new.  A look that brings together industrial elements, rustic farmhouse pieces, the softness and texture of old linen and burlap, the beauty and depth of old books....well, our dream is finally coming true!  This coming weekend we will unveil our vision of Barn Loft

Barn Loft is a look, a feel, an experience!  And we can't wait to share it with you!  Come see us at the Townsend Harbor Market, 80 Main Street, Townsend, MA!  Join us for a sneek preview on Thursday Night, and come back to purchase Friday or Saturday, 10-5, and Sunday, 11-4.

Here are a few pics of some of the repurposed pieces I'll be bringing to the sale...

Keep checking the Barn Loft blog for sneek peaks of our space at the Marketplace!

Have a happy day!

The flea market season is ON!!!!  There is something so ethereal, so intimate,!...about sifting through flea market treasures!  Always on the lookout for paper items (got a great little box of Dennison labels for $1!) and books (picked up two beauties), but I never know what else will catch my eye.  There always seems to be a theme, and this week was no exception!

My largest pic of the weekend was this fantastic vintage tea cart.  Cocktails anyone????

Had to have this harvest basket:)

I can never pass up a good pair of field glasses.  These are spectacular, even the case is in great condition!  And look at the close-up...meant to be!

It may have had something to do with the fact that I brought a BOY with me to the flea, but I was attracted to romantic books...hmmm....  Thanks, Doug!  You have a great picker's eye!

I have a great collection of these little metal security boxes.  They will be transformed in an upcoming post!

The vast majority of my finds were of the "rustic" variety.  Barn Sale-type finds, for sure!  First off, a couple of great divided crates with iron handles.

Loved the green chippy paint and size of this old tool box.  Long and narrow.  Perhaps I'll mount it on brackets as a wall shelf?

Not sure yet what I will do with this old camping toaster, but, well, it spoke to me...

This piece, is just plain awesome!  This vise was used in making wagon wheels.  Can you say COOL!

Look at the character in this wood!

And this crank is hand-forged!

How will I repurpose this treasure?  I haven't yet decided, but it will be gorgeous!

Thanks for flea-ing with me!

Have a happy day!

New at the Spaulding Cooperage

I brought some new items over to the Cooperage this week...finally!  I've been so busy with book orders I haven't had time for big projects!

I've had this desk in storage for two years!  Just waiting for inspiration...  I've been on a grey kick lately, so it first got a coat of french gray paint and and a good sanding.  Then I covered the kneehole and sides with pages from an old french book.  Ooh la la!

The little side table was featured in a previous post.  Here is a close up of the gorgeous journal pages I used to cover the drawers and sides.

For a little bit of texture, I made a wreath out of old dictionary pages and filled a large jar with vintage embroidery thread.

Head on over to the Spaulding Cooperage in Townsend to see more!

Have a happy day!

Shopping Trip

Wow, it sure has been a while since I've posted pics from a shopping trip.  This was a small take, but that's because I'm saving my cash for the flea market!!!!  Open this coming Sunday!!!!!  Ooohhh, I really hope it's a good one!  In the meantime, here are a few treasures from a recent trip with my partner-in-crime, Kris Vogelsang, of Cricket Acres:

This double pulley rescued from an old barn will make a great hanger for a diy light fixture...

These rusty old finials are destined for greatness as bookends...

Don't know what I will do with these old tags, but love the shape!

This old twine holder is a keeper...

Barn door slides...ooohh, I have so many ideas!

Fun red tags...think these will end up on my Etsy site...

Don't know if I'll be able to part with these Marine's field glassess.  They are gorgeous!  Ahh, the occupational hazards of dealing in antiques...what to keep...what to sell?

Have a happy day!
